Artist Statement

Fred Rosett

I am a stainless steel wire artist based in the Fort Worth/Dallas, TX area. I have always been interested in the intricacies of art in a wide range of materials ranging from stained glass, wood and steel. After my retirement I pursued my interest in art by honing my skills with stainless-steel wire sculpture. I believe art should be both inspiring and soothing to the soul. Art should complement its surroundings and be comfortable in either an indoor or outdoor setting. My art is resistant to the environment and the addition of sunshine and breezes help bring these dynamic elements to life”

My approach to art intertwines function and imagination, ensuring that each piece resonates in public and commercial spaces. Through dynamic and sustainable designs, my sculptures seek to transform shared environments into places of connection and inspiration. Guided by themes of universality and inclusivity, I aim to create works that foster interaction and engagement, celebrating the beauty of communal experiences.

Stainless steel—renowned for its strength, resilience, and lasting beauty—is my medium of choice. Whether working with a single strand or thousands of wires, I rely on its durability in the elements to create dynamic, sustainable designs that endure over time. Its exceptional structural properties allow for impressive height-to-base ratios, resulting in visually striking and dramatic forms.

The result is sculpture that conveys graceful lines, a sense of motion, and an unexpected lightness, as seen in my piece Flying. My dandelion sculptures, in particular, come alive in sunlight and breeze—gently swaying, shimmering, and casting ever-changing shadows. These natural interactions bring a sense of movement and a touch of magic to each piece.

Inspired by the universal symbolism of the dandelion, my work evokes whimsy, nostalgia, and wonder. It invites people of all ages and backgrounds to pause, make a wish, and dream.”

Our process

The Process

As an artist specializing in stainless steel sculpture, my creative process is a harmonious blend of vision, technique, and passion. Every creation begins with a spark of inspiration, often drawn from nature, emotions, or abstract concepts. I immerse myself in the exploration of ideas, sketching, and conceptualizing until a clear vision emerges. Stainless steel, with its versatility and enduring beauty, is my medium of choice. I carefully select the grade and finish to suit the intended aesthetic and environment of the sculpture. With meticulous attention to detail.
